Full Moon Water- Full Moon Rituals

One of the most powerful and easy to make and use tools of magic is the Lunar Water, a water which is charged by the powers of the Moon.

Moon was also associated with the Water and was perceived as a way to channel the powers of the Moon. The ancient civilizations realized that the cycles of the moon affect the tides and the seas, thus the Moon strongly influenced the Waters of our World.
One of the most powerful and easy to make  tools of magic  is the Lunar Water, a water which is charged by the powers of the Moon.

Moon water has many purposes and uses.  It can be used like blessing oil. It can be used to enhance your  rituals; it can be added to your bath for relaxation, for clarity, to promote love or prepare for lunar rituals, to anoint money to increase wealth, and to anoint yourself to increase psychic awareness, among many other purposes. You can even make tea with it, or water your plants with it.  It is largely dependent on your intent and often what zodiac sign the moon is in. To find out the day’s moon phase sign, I usually check over at Lunaf.

Here is a no frills guide for making your own full moon water:

  1. Locate a clear container: a bowl, jar or glass. Avoid plastic. No one likes the taste of plastic. (A mason jar might be best as you can seal and preserve it in the fridge.) Fill it with water of your choice: spring, filtered, or alkaline water.
  2. You can bless the water with sage or close your eyes and imagine the moon shining down and filling the water with its light, the water transforming; here you are using visualization to charge the water with your intent. Or, you simply set the container outside and let nature do its thing.
  3. Take the container filled with water outside to the clearest area you can find, unobstructed by overhanging trees and other things. Make sure this area will be undisturbed. It’s even better if this area is somehow special or important to you. Set the container down with the knowledge that the full moon will fill the water and transform it with lunar light. (You can also do this indoors, where you have seen the moon by a window. Sit the container in the window.)
  4. If  you like, here you can add frills: Surround the bowl with moonstones, crystals, flowers, or other items.
  5. This guide has no spell to say. If you like, simply smile at the lunar water and smile at the moon with a Goddess smirk. Spell complete. You can leave the water out overnight or for a few hours, it’s up to you. (just retrieve it before the sunrise)
  6. Use the water to anoint your chakras, your third-eye in the center of your forehead (associated with psychic sight and clarity). Use it like perfume. Make tea with it. Water your plants. Cook with it. Flick it over certain items to bless them. It’s up to you.
  7. On storage: Like any other water, make sure you seal it up. Its best sealed and placed in the fridge if not used right away. Make sure you can tell that this is your Goddess water by marking it with a label or designate it by placing it in a special container.
  8.   If you have extra full moon water, water your plants with it or take it back outside and return it to nature by pouring it into the soil.

Sweet Potato Salmon Burgers

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 large cooked sweet potato
  • 1/4 cup of almond meal
  • 1/3 cup of cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of braggs liquid aminos
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 2 large organic eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast flakes
  • 2 wild caught salmon fillets
  • or you can use two 14.75 – ounce cans of wild Alaskan pink salmon.
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil for cooking

DIRECTIONS:

Cook salmon fillets if not using can salmon.

In a large bowl add cooked sweet potato and mash, add in salmon and the rest of the ingredients and spices.

Stir until well combined. Line a baking sheet or large plate  with parchment paper.

Shape  out evenly sized salmon cakes to make patties.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or all day.

Heat a large frying pan  over medium high heat. Once hot, add 1 tablespoon coconut oil. Let oil completely melt and get very hot. Slowly add patties and cook for 4 minutes.

Gently flip and cook for an additional 4 minutes on the other side. Serve hot and Enjoy!

 

 

Healthy “Love” Day Treats

Here are some delicious healthy chocolate treats that you can make at home for you and your loved ones. Made dairy & refined sugar free!

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BANANA BON BONS

Ingredients:

  • 1 bar of dark chocolate chopped ( I used Newman’s Own)
  • 1/2 cup of no salt, no sugar added peanut butter
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (optional)

Directions:

Slice bananas and place on a baking tray. Spoon about 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter on top of each banana slice. Place another banana slice over the peanut butter and sandwich together. Freeze until firm, about 2 hours.

On a double boiler, melt dark chocolate. Place banana pieces in the melted chocolate, one by one, until covered in chocolate all around. Place the bananas back in the baking tray and let them stand until set.

Use the leftover chocolate to cover other fruit. I dipped STRAWBERRIES in the CHOCOLATE and covered with HAZELNUTS. Place on baking tray and let set until firm.

ORGANIC RED DELICIOUS APPLES WITH CHOCOLATE NUT BUTTER DIP

This is a simple recipe but so good!

Just cut up an apple or two and take your favorite nut butter and mix in  a tablespoon of cacao powder and voila! ..Instant chocolaty nutty yumminess!

CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup of strawberries
  • 1 heaping tbsp of cacao powder
  • 1 tsp maca
  • 1 tsp flaxmeal
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 3 coconut ice-cubes

Put all ingredients in blender, blend, sprinkle on some cacao nibs and enjoy!

  • 4 Mandarin Oranges
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • 3 dates
  • 3 coconut ice-cubes
  • 1/2 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup of alkaline water
  • 2 tablespoons of nonfat greek yogurt (can also use coconut or soy yogurt)

  • 3 coconut ice-cubes
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp maca
  • 1 scoop of Marley coffee raw protein
  • 1 cup of hazelnut milk
  • 1 tsp flaxmeal

  • 1 cup of papaya
  • 1 small knob of ginger (peeled & chopped)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp flaxmeal
  • 4 dates
  • 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tsp of maca

I make smoothies practically everyday so I will be posting my recipes often.

Therapeutic Thursday – Full Moon Rituals

Tonight we celebrate the FULL MOON once again!

November’s full moon, the beaver moon also know as the frost moon.

Each full moon for me represents a time to reset, renew and recharge. A time to check in with my mind, body and spirit. A time to set my intentions. A spiritual cleansing if you will.

I also have a set of “full moon rituals” that I like to do that I will share with you.

At the full Moon, the energy builds and builds….there’s an explosive outgoing aspect to it. All of nature grows and is more vital at the full Moon. This surge allows you to take action on behalf of those new Moon intentions you set two week prior. A full Moon ritual might involve taking one solid step, with a symbolic action. And it can be a powerful time to release, cast out, unburden yourself, purge, etc. You celebrate your emergence by stepping out of an old skin, identity, behavior, attitude, relationship. The ritual helps you by marking this inner transformation in a formal way.
A full Moon ritual might involve purification by one of the elements. Most often, it’s fire, and done by casting something you don’t want into the flames. One idea: 1) Write what you’re releasing down on a stick or piece of paper.  2) resolve to let go as you throw it into the fire. 3) Throw the stick or paper  into the fire. This can be done as a group, with everyone sitting around the fire…or in your own private ceremony. Each person can seal their action of letting go by speaking it aloud, If you are alone, write down all that does not serve you anymore on a piece of paper (attitudes, emotions, relationships, people, illness, pain, habits, addictions) whatever you want to release. Go outside and burn the paper under the full moon and give thanks.

Water can be used to cleanse in rituals. Fill a bowl with water , write  down what you  want  to draw into your life on a piece of paper. After you  read it  aloud,  put your hands in the bowl to signify the cleansing of the old, to open to the new.

MEDITATION

If at all possible for this healing meditation, allow yourself to stand or sit barefoot upon the earth in a quiet place bathing yourself directly in the light of the full moon. This is a powerful opportunity to trigger an ongoing purification process of body, mind, emotions and spirit and of Mother Earth and for letting go of all that no longer serves you.
If you cannot do this meditation physically under the light of the full moon, then just imagine with all your senses what it would feel like if you were standing bathed in the light of the full moon.
Breathe deeply, filling your lungs with the cool, crisp evening air, and then exhaling slowly and patiently, feeling worries, stresses and tensions just melting out of the body and mind, as you relax deeper and deeper, take  long, slow deep breaths in and out taking you comfortably into deeper  states of relaxation – Everything else is becoming unimportant and is fading into the background as you connect more and more with the energy of the full moon.

Transformation Tuesday – The Power of Visualization!

Todays transformation tool is the power of visualization.

We have two minds — the conscious and the subconscious. According to Dr. Bruce Lipton, a former professor of medicine at Stanford University, “the subconscious mind operates at 40 million bits of data per second, whereas the conscious mind processes at only 40 bits per second.” 

Without our even knowing, our subconscious mind is processing things at an astronomical rate. So how can we harness this power and use it to our advantage?

Well, the subconscious mind thinks in images and feelings. This could mean that if you set a goal of earning a certain amount of money or finding your soul mate, you are much more likely to obtain these future goals if you try focusing on the images and feelings associated with them.

It’s important to visualize your goals with images that trigger you in the most physical way possible. You can tell when you’ve found a great image, because you’ll feel the sensation of that excitement in your body.

Whether it’s a tingling feeling like champagne bubbles in your stomach, or the hairs on your arms stand up a bit —  try taking notice of how different images trigger you physiologically when you visualize your goals.

Think of one of your goals right now. Close your eyes and try to imagine different scenarios that could occur if this goal were a reality. Find the images that most excite you in your body and focus on those. If you’re feeling stuck, a great way to get started is to create a vision board.

Skeptical? Well, if you’re looking for scientific evidence before giving this visualization stuff a try, research shows that adding a visual element to our written goals may bring even stronger results.

Adding pictures that represent what you want to come to fruition in your life can make attaining those goals easier than just writing them down. You can make a vision board, by adding the element of guided relaxation to help tune in to your subconscious mind. I find that it helps to try visualizing your ideal life five years from now.

Once you’ve gotten clear on the images that excite you and represent your goals, it’s important to visualize them often in your mind’s eye, to continuously trigger the power of your subconscious.

Every night when you go to sleep, spend about two minutes picturing the images of your future success. If you made a Vision Board, look at it right before bed and again first thing in the morning.

According to Dr. Wayne Dyer, the last two minutes before you fall asleep at night stay in your subconscious mind for up to four hours while you’re sleeping! So this is the best time to do your visualization.

When you imagine your future success, your subconscious mind will draw in people and opportunities to make that future success a reality. So give visualization a try and create the future of your dreams!

Motivation Monday – Fitspiration – Ernestine Shepherd

I am so inspired by this woman.  Check out this amazing  story as well as the heartfelt video below… Motivation at it’s best!

Ernestine “Ernie” Shepherd, at age 78, is a personal trainer, a professional model, a competitive bodybuilder and happier and more fulfilled than she’s ever been in her life. In March of 2010, on stage in Rome, Italy she was formally given the title of World’s Oldest Performing Female BodyBuilder (by Guinness World Records). How did Ernestine transform herself from an average middle-aged woman to bodybuilding diva?

In her youth Ernestine is said to have been a ”prissy” girl with little interest in athletics or exercise of any kind. As a 56-year-old she was a sedentary, well-padded school secretary and “slug” who had never worked out a day in her life. The obvious question is: What happened to transform Ernestine into a role model for the rest of us, and senior women in particular?

What happened was that the 56-year-old version of Ernestine went bathing suit shopping with her sister, Velvet. While trying on the suits, they found themselves laughing at each other. Then and there they knew it was time to get in better shape. Ernestine and her sister joined a gym and started working out together. A short time later, Velvet died suddenly from a brain aneurysm. Devastated, Ernestine stopped going to the gym. After some months of mourning the loss of her sister and on the advice of a friend that her sister would have wanted her to continue what they had started, Ernestine returned to the gym with a reignited determination to get fit.

Starting slowly and building her body step by little step, Ernestine over time completely transformed not only her body, but her life, too. She has never been happier. She trains mostly senior women five days a week and “live(s) to inspire senior women to reach their physical potential.”

Personally, she likes to compete in 5K and 10K races and run marathons. She’s up at 4 A.M. to get in her 10-mile runs and puts in upwards to 80 miles a week when training for an upcoming marathon. Ernestine also strength trains four or more days a week. In 2007 (at age 71) she asked Yohnnie Shambourger (former Mr. Universe) to train her to compete as a bodybuilder.  Seven months later she entered her first bodybuilding competition. In this first contest she took first place in her class at the Natural East Coast Tournament of Champions bodybuilding competition – out posing women decades younger.

Despite all the exercise, Ernestine says that she has no aches or pains whatsoever and has never been injured — not at all — in the 17 years of her new improved life. This 5-foot 5-inch, 130-pound dynamo sports 9 to 10% body fat; these single-digit percentages are usually reserved for elite-professional male athletes in their prime! She takes no medications. She loves her new life’s work, enjoys more energy than those decades younger and has never been more successful. What’s her secret? Let’s look at some of what allows Ernestine to defy “normal” aging:

  • Began slowly under the guidance of an expert personal trainer and gradually conditioned her body
  • Ernestine, realizing early on the importance of good nutrition (including sufficient protein and supplements) sought out the services of a nutritionist
  • Has the full support of her husband of 52 years, Collin, who prepares meals and makes sure the fridge is always stocked with her seven convenient small balanced daily meals
  • Makes sure she gets the rest her body needs
  • Tries to have a positive attitude about everything, views her workouts as fun and sees her work as being on a “long happy journey”
  • Knows where she wants to go and what she wants to accomplish and do
  • Believes in encouragement, inspiration and family support and lives by her mantra ” Determined — Dedicated — Disciplined To Be Fit”

Ernestine Shepherd is having the time of her life at an age when many folks only see themselves as declining and getting old. She’s in the best shape of her life by far, more successful than she’s ever been and a supreme role model to senior women everywhere — and to the rest of us, too. She has a lot to teach us about thriving at any age — if we are but ready and open to learn.
